Legislation refers to the preparation and enactment of laws by a legislative body through its lawmaking process. This process includes evaluating, amending, and voting on proposed laws and is concerned with the words used in a bill to communicate its intended values, judgments, and purposes. Laws cover all aspects of our lives including protecting the health, safety, and well-being of people at work, at school, and throughout our community.
Legislative advocacy is the most direct way for the public to cause a change in government policy and we strongly encourage anyone or any representative from an organization or family who wants to listen in, learn, and ask questions. There are many ways to become involved in not just EFH’s efforts to ensure Hawaii is a seizure-safe community, but ANYONE who can apply this information to make Hawaii a better place for all.
