The Epilepsy Foundation of Hawaiʻi needs your help to support the 14,000 people in this state – 1 out of every 26 people – who will develop epilepsy at some point in their lifetime! We are a small nonprofit that relies on charitable donations from individuals like you.

Help Sophia Speak Up For Epilepsy

Sophia Owen is representing Hawai’i at the Teen Speak Up event in Washington, D.C., where she’ll share her story and advocate for better epilepsy care and research. But, she can’t do it alone!

Your donation will help cover travel costs so Sophia can raise awareness and make a real impact for the 14,000 people in Hawai’i living with epilepsy.

Mahalo for your support!

Interested in Volunteering?

Your help and support is greatly appreciated! Here are some ways you can volunteer:

Community Outreach

Help get the word out in your community! Volunteers are needed to distribute materials about our programs and services to schools, hospitals, doctors offices, local stores and other community centers. In addition, volunteers will help staff community outreach events by passing out epilepsy information, informing event attendees about the organization and answering questions.

Office Support

Office volunteers help with a variety of office task including answering the phone, greeting visitors, data entry, managing media database/press, mailings and general office administration.

Special Events

Volunteers assist with the organization’s annual Sharon’s Ride for Epilepsy and Freedom Run. Duties may include registering participants, securing sponsors & in-kind donations, assisting with setup/breakdown, cheering on runners/bikers and helping with event logistics.
